5. Progress Test 채점 기준 안내

SCORING SYSTEM FOR ENGLISH DAY (PROGRESS TEST)
TOTAL = 120 POINTS FOR EACH LEVEL

WRITING EXAM: (30 POINTS)
Mechanics:
Students will be given 2 sets of topics. Each topic will have a maximum score of 15 points for a total of 30 points. A maximum of 30 minutes is needed for this exam.

Note:
Student should study the PREP method. Please request lessons from your Grammar teachers for this method. The scoring system will be based on this method.

SPEAKING EXAM: (30 POINTS)
Mechanics:
The speaking exam will only have 1 topic for discussion. Upon entering the room, students will be requested to sit in a panel for 3-5 interviewers. Student must at least have 5 minutes to discuss the topics provided for him/her. After 5 minutes the interviewers will be asking sets of questions for him/her based on the topics provided. The average will be tallied at the end of the interview.

Student should study the 10 TIPS ON HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL SPEAKER. Please request lessons from your Speaking/Listening  teachers for this lesson.

LISTENING EXAM: (30 POINTS)
Mechanics:
Students will be requested to listen to a tape recording. The students will be oriented on how to answer the forms provided by the Listening Exam Teachers. There will be 30 items provided for the listening test.

READING AND VOCABULARY EXAM: (30 POINTS)
Mechanics:
Students will have two sets of test papers. The first set is for the reading test. Students will read a short article and will be answering 10 questions based on the story. The second set is a list of the 20 vocabulary words given during the pre-exam day posted on the Student’s Bulletin Board. Students must give the meaning of these words. A maximum of 35 minutes is needed for the Reading and Vocabulary Exam.
