Philinter Bingo: Buy, Win, and Give!
By: Clifford B. Malinao
BINGO is the word everyone wanted to shout that day.
With reasonable amount of money to win, many students and teachers joined by purchasing bingo cards. The activity was opened by Helena, Philinter Vietnamese manager, and followed by 5 rounds of bingo games with variations in pattern. To fill the gap between rounds, teachers and students had dance and song presentations.
Some students accompanied by their buddy teachers were chosen as announcers of the bingo numbers to somehow incorporate the academic part. Students had to pronounce the numbers as clearly as they could. Otherwise, they could have been misheard and ruined the game.
The ultimate goal of the activity is to raise funds for the upcoming outreach program.? Forty percent (40%) of the sales of sold bingo cards have been set aside for the coming activity, and 60% have been given away. Thus, the slogan of the activity goes, “Buy, Win, and Give”.
