Philinter Life By: Student Michelle “Nguyen Thu Phuong”
I want to begin talking about before I came here. My initial plan was to study hard and look for bigger goals, utilize the time for discovery and experience in the Philippine culture as much as I can. And most of all to make my time here productive and valuable since this is my first and longest time to study abroad.
When I first came here, I actually did not feel comfortable with the environment, the food and the weather because everything was new for me especially the weather is very hot and keep on changing quickly. They took tolls on me mentally and physically. The first month was difficult for me to get on well. But after that, I have found a good way to balance my life here and started to enjoy it. I traveled to many places with a lot of international friends every weekend. The beauty of islands, falls and beaches incredibly surprised me. I was fascinated so much and got more energy to study harder in school. I also felt lucky because I had chances to learn from such enthusiastic teachers who always supported and motivated me, not only in classes but also outside the class. Because of the way they taught and their passion in teaching, my perception about learning English has totally changed. I love English rather than ignore it as I did before.
During my time in Philinter, I have tried my best to improve my English as well as my weaknesses and I believe that I have done my best and become a better person each day. In addition, one of my best memories is my friends. I never thought that I would have good and caring international acquaintances. I feel blessed to have met them in my life. All in all, I have to say that the experience here changed me a lot positively. I became stronger and more confident to face the challenges that I might face in the near future. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my beloved teachers for guiding me and supporting me through my Philinter life. You all are doing the best job ever! From Michelle
(Nguyen Thu Phuong) with lots of respect and love!
