Philinter Academy provides academic consultation services to assist students in achieving their language learning and academic goals. Having the trainers and the Academic Head as consultants can be very helpful and effective for both the students and the buddy teacher.
BENEFITS:
- Students can comfortably and freely pour out their complaints about their buddy teachers.
- Teachers’ class hours and preparations will be jeopardized.
- Time schedule changes will be well arranged and orderly on its scheduled days.
- Concerns, issues, and complaints are easily kept confidential only among the Consultants, the Academic Coordinator, and the upper management.
I. THE ROLES OF THE BUDDY TEACHER
- Acts as the academic support and adviser to the student.
- Gives consultations every after releases of Progress Test results
- Guides, helps, and supports the buddy student every English Day Program.
- Checks the consultation schedule(s) of the buddy student
- Takes care of all the academic needs of the buddy student
- Reports to the Academic Coordinator all the academic concerns of the buddy student
II. PURPOSE OF THE ACADEMIC CONSULTATIONS
- Provides the students with guidance and advice on how they can improve their English skills
- Develop strategies for carrying out academic tasks more effectively
III. THE CONSULTANT
- Gives specific help and advice on the students’ academic literacy needs and English language use.
- Suggests strategies for students to improve their academic skills and performance.
- Recommend useful resources and activities to further enhance students’ English skills.
Consultation sessions typically focus on the following areas:
- Students’ performance in class
- Students’ improvement
- Students’ English skills (weak and strong points)
- Teachers’ performance (teaching skills, attitude/ professionalism)
- Class Evaluation
Student Academic Consultation Schedule will be prepared and posted by the time table scheduler.

Student Academic Consultation Process:
- STUDENT ‘S ASSESSMENT OF THE TEACHERS
Buddy teacher gives consultation questionnaire to the student at least 2 days before the scheduled consultation session. Student answers and gives the questionnaire to the consultant on the consultation date.
- TEACHERS’ ASSESSMENT OF THE STUDENT
The buddy teacher gathers the teachers’ assessment of the student.
The buddy teacher then forwards the assessment to the Consultant.
- STUDENT’S CONSULTATION
1:1 consultation session will be conducted with the student. Time table scheduler makes the consultation appointment of the student.
CONSULTATION FEEDBACK TO TEAM LEADERS /HR/Academic Coordinator/Director
The Consultant gives the feedback to HR, Academic Coordinator and Director for filing/updates and to the respective team leaders.
