PRIMARY English (7-11 years old)

This course combines play and learning for 11 years and younger. Teachers who are experienced and well-trained in children’s English education conduct the classes for students to enjoy learning English even at a young age.

CURRICULUM FEATURES

  • A speaking-centered curriculum is operated. Conversation, pronunciation, phonics, role-playing, and vocabulary are the main aspects of class management. In particular, we help children learn English while having fun.

  • Children keep an English diary and memorize vocabulary (10 to 20 words depending on level) every day.

  • Only experienced teachers specialized in children’s education teach this course.

One on One Class

  • Speak Smart – A class designed to creating a little English-speaking world where kids can explore, make mistakes, and learn from them. The emphasis is on communication rather than perfection, helping kids build confidence in expressing themselves in English.
  • Fun with Words – This is a linguistic playground designed to enhance vocabulary skills and promote a deep understanding of words. In a Word Smart class, the focus is on expanding a child’s vocabulary in a fun and interactive way, making learning feel like playtime. Teachers might use word games, puzzles, and creative exercises to introduce new words and reinforce their meanings.
  • Reading Adventures – This exploratory class focuses on engaging students in the joys of reading while enhancing on improving both reading comprehension and oral communication skills. This class typically includes a variety of age-appropriate texts, such as storybooks, comics, and poems, to spark interest and curiosity in reading.
  • Speech and Pronunciation – This fun and exciting class focuses on helping students improve their speaking skills, pronunciation, and confidence in using the English language. This type of class typically includes various activities designed to enhance their articulation, fluency, and overall communication skills.
  • Expressive Writing – This class focuses on encouraging students to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas through writing. It may also include a bit of academic writing to help students understand structure and formality in writing. This combination helps students develop their creativity while also acquiring essential writing skills.

Small Group Class (45 Minutes)

  • Kids TV – Typically involve using children’s television shows, cartoons, or educational videos as a central resource for language learning. This approach helps engage students and makes learning English more relatable and enjoyable.
  • Kids Talk – Combines language learning with engaging activities that foster speaking, listening, and interaction. The class is designed to be interactive and fun, encouraging children to express themselves in English. The class may integrate vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation practice within the context of speaking activities, allowing students to see how these elements work together in real communication.
  • Listen & Learn – This class focuses on engaging students in listening activities that promote active participation and comprehension. The goal is to help students develop their listening skills while making the learning experience enjoyable and dynamic.
  • Word Wizards – This class helps students expand their vocabulary and language skills through engaging activities and word games, making learning new words both fun and effective.
  • Dictation Discovery –This class focuses on improving listening and writing skills through dictation exercises, helping students enhance their ability to accurately transcribe spoken language and improve spelling and comprehension.

Small Group Class (Connecting)

  • Engage and Explore ESL – This actively involves students in their learning process while encouraging them to discover and interact with the language in meaningful ways. This class has engaging activities with exploration of language concepts, themes, or topics.
ADMISSION QUALIFICATION AND DATE
  • 7 – 11 years old
  • For young kids who want to have a solid English foundation.
  • If the child’s level is too low to allow for group classes, classes will only be held one-on-one for a certain period. 2 hours of small group class will be changed to 1 hour of one-on-one class.
  • Must be accompanied by a guardian/parent.

The following is an example of a Primary English course. The student can change the start time and vacant time to suit their lifestyle.

After school, the student can take swimming lessons or have private time. It is also possible to go out with a guardian. Participation in the evening program is optional.

Placement Test

Every Monday. The initial consultation is given right after the exam, followed by school orientation in the afternoon. Regular classes begin on Tuesday morning; however, for short-term classes of 1-2 weeks, classes start on Monday afternoon.


Weekly Test

The weekly test covers the following areas: (1) Grammar for Speaking, (2) Pattern English, (3) Usage of Verbs, and (4) Essential Vocabulary. Tests are conducted once a week in these four areas, starting at 5 PM on Wednesday and lasting 20 minutes. The degree of difficulty varies across three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Participation in the weekly test is mandatory for Junior ESL and Primary English students.


Progress Test

Once a month every Friday to assess the monthly progress. Short-term students (those enrolled for less than 1 month) may not take the test. Students within 2 weeks of admission or 2 weeks before graduation can take regular classes without participating in the test.

601 Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
501 + Can reformulate ideas differently in order to ensure that people understand exactly what is meant, eliminating the possibility of misunderstandings. Also, has a good command of a broad vocabulary, including collocations and idiomatic expressions; Can overcome gaps in vocabulary with alternatives. Can consistently maintain a high degree of grammatical accuracy; errors are rare and difficult to spot. Can express myself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly.
501 Can express fluently and spontaneously, except occasionally, when speaking about a conceptually difficult subject. Has a good command of a broad vocabulary. Can sometimes have to search for expressions but can then find alternatives to express what he/she want to say. Maintains a high degree of grammatical control in speech and writing.
401 + Can express clearly and without much sign of having to restrict what he/she wants to say. Can reformulate ideas in different ways to ensure people understand exactly what is meant. Can maintain good grammatical control. Can sometimes make mistakes but can easily correct them afterwards. Can communicate fluently and spontaneously, even when talking at length about complex subjects.

On the first day, I was worried about the classes because each class are very high quality. Moreover, I faced a difficult challenge that I couldn’t express my opinion and feelings in English. However, all teachers follow me and teach me how to express my opinion. Therefore, I extend gratitude to my teacher and other staffs, and my friends. All the teacher were unique, and I was able to enjoy their classes. The IPS course had four 1on1 sessions per day. Since speaking English inevitably increase during these sessions, I believe it helped strengthen my speaking skills. Even when I used incorrect expressions, the teacher understood and gave me advice, so I was able to speak English without fear of making mistakes.
