Consultation Process
The process from consultation, preparation for departure to the Philippines, and arrival at Philinter Academy proceed as follows.
CONSULTATION WITH AGENT
- Please provide in-depth consultation considering the purpose, period, and budget of your study.
- If you are looking to quickly improve your level/score in a short time, consider the Spartan Program courses (Intensive ESL, IELTS Intensive, IELTS/TOEIC Guarantee courses).
- Check to see if there are any promotions. However, starting from 2025, we plan to no longer promote or do so only in a very limited manner.
- The following courses require an Admission Test: Focus Industry, Advanced Business, IELTS Intensive, and IELTS/TOEIC Guarantee courses have entry-level requirements. (Download: Course Summary)
- You can conveniently apply for the Admission Test even before registration.
- You can consult with our manager and get accurate information about your questions. However, please register through Philinter's Official Agent.

REGISTRATION
- Our official agent will forward your application to the school. We will also protect your privacy.
- If you have a medical condition or need to take medication regularly for health reasons, you must notify the school.
- Also, if you have special requests regarding room allocation or class management, please receive confirmation from the agent in advance about the availability of your request.
- Be sure to read the guidelines (orientation) and refund policy for new students.
- Teacher reservations are also available. Check teacher information on the website and make reservations for up to 2 people.

PASSPORT AND DEPARTURE PREPARATION
- Please prepare your departure items carefully according to the circumstances.
- If you have an iPad/tablet, bring it with you. You can receive class-related PDF materials for free and use them during class.
- Please check the expiration date of your passport. It must have at least 6 months of validity remaining as of the date of entry into the Philippines.
- Chinese: You need to apply for a visa at the Philippine Embassy. Valid for 30 days.
- Taiwanese: A visa application is required and you can choose between a 30-day or 59-day visa. If you are studying in the Philippines for more than 12 weeks, you can obtain a visa, enter the Philippines, and then extend your visa in the Philippines.
- Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai nationals, etc. can enter the Philippines without a visa.
PAY TUITION
- Philinter guarantees that there will be no problem paying your tuition fees to the official agent. Your tuition will be safely remitted overseas to the school.
ADMISSION LETTER
- After completing the payment of tuition, you will receive a letter of admission (LOA).
AIRLINE TICKETS, OVERSEAS TRAVEL INSURANCE
- Airline tickets to the Philippines may have different entry guidelines depending on the country of departure. Please contact your agent for details.
- Be sure to apply for overseas travel insurance. Please check how much compensation you can receive if your valuables are stolen or lost while studying abroad, and whether you can receive a refund later if you go to the hospital.
- Pick-up letter: If you send us your flight ticket, we will provide you with a 'pick-up letter' that confirms your pick-up time from Cebu Airport.
DEPART FOR THE PHILIPPINES
- We will pick you up at Cebu-Mactan International Airport. Please remember where to meet the school staff in your pickup letter.
- First-day schedule: On Monday, there will be a placement test in the morning, academic counseling and orientation in the afternoon, and currency exchange at the shopping mall. Regular classes start on Tuesday morning.
- If you are a short-term student for 1-2 weeks, you will attend regular classes starting Monday.

Please note that textbooks for certain courses such as IELTS, Business, and Cambridge are only accessible through our PARTNER AGENT. However, the list of textbooks for other courses is open to all.
Absolutely! You have the option to choose multiple courses, including 2 or 3 courses.
However, we recommend consulting with us to determine the recommended order of courses and the ideal duration of study based on your individual needs.
The rate at which you can improve your TOEIC score varies depending on your current level of English proficiency. Here’s an estimate of score improvement based on different starting levels:
- If your English level is below 450 in TOEIC, you can anticipate an improvement of approximately 150-200 points per 4 weeks.
- If your English level is below 600 in TOEIC, you can expect to improve your score by 100 to 150 points per 4 weeks.
- For those with a score of 750 points and above, the rate of score improvement may be reduced.
On average, beginners or those with English proficiency below 450 can achieve a TOEIC score of 850 within approximately 12 weeks of dedicated study and practice.
The study period to improve from IELTS 5.5 to IELTS 7.0 typically takes around 24 weeks when taking the IELTS Intensive course.
Here is the breakdown:
- First 12 weeks to improve from 5.5 to 6.5
- Then even another 12 weeks to improve from 6.5 to 7.0.
However, if you opt to choose the IELTS Score Guarantee, the total study duration can be reduced to 16 – 20 weeks.

The IELTS Score Guarantee Course at PHILINTER is designed to facilitate the achievement of the maximum score in a short timeframe.
Typically, it takes 24 to 32 weeks of learning for an English beginner to attain an IELTS score of 6.5. However, with our IELTS Score Guarantee Course, this score can be achieved in 24 weeks or even less.
PHILINTER’s IELTS SCORE GUARANTEE is designed to help students reach their target score quickly and effectively. In the event that the guaranteed score is not attained, free tuition fee for a specific number of weeks after the study period will be offered.
