Established in 2003, Philinter Academy, located in Cebu City, Philippines, is a leading English language school catering to international students. Inspired by the rising demand for quality English education, the founder chose Cebu City as the ideal location due to its scenic beauty and friendly locals.
In its early years, Philinter focused on building a stellar reputation, investing in experienced teachers, effective teaching methods, and creating a supportive learning environment. Philinter Academy is the first Philippine language academy to offer MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses). A MOOC is a program providing access to video lectures from renowned global universities, allowing participants to earn a micro degree.
Our MOOC classes cover specialized fields like management, marketing, tourism, medicine, and architecture, with options tailored for varying English proficiency levels. Philinter students have the flexibility to attend these classes after school or on weekends, requiring only 4 to 5 hours per week to earn a micro degree.
While MOOC participation is optional, we highly recommend it for those enrolled in Light ESL, General ESL, Advanced Business, or Focus Industry courses.

Philinter Academy offers an 8-week IELTS program that assesses students’ starting levels to determine their expected IELTS score upon completion. Here are the expected outcomes for the course based on the entry level:
For entry-level IELTS 3.0 (or equivalent level), acquire an IELTS score of 5.0 or higher after 8 weeks.
- For IELTS 4.0 (or equivalent level), acquire an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher after 8 weeks
- For IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent level), acquire an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher after 8 weeks
- For IELTS 6.5, students can acquire an IELTS score of 7.0 in 8 weeks

We are excited to announce an improved version of our IELTS 16-Week Program designed for individuals without prior IELTS experience. The program aims to help students achieve a score of 6.5 or higher in just 16 weeks.
Following regular classes, students will receive intensive academic supervision through an evening program after school. This ensures a focused and supportive learning environment to enhance IELTS proficiency.
The program has received positive responses from students in Vietnam, Taiwan, and China. In response to valuable feedback, we have made some changes, including lowered admission qualifications and upgraded student services. Notably, the school will now cover the IELTS official test fee.
To qualify for admission, a minimum English level of IELTS 3.5 or equivalent is required. If you are unsure about your eligibility, we offer free interviews to help you assess your readiness.
