Studying abroad as a family with children that are in elementary and high school was a great decision! In particular, my eldest son has grown tremendously, both as a person and in his English skills. If you have middle school or high school students, or if you are worried about letting your child participate alone, I highly recommend that you participate! This is because when children are left alone, they might make friends with foreign strangers without your knowledge. Because of the study abroad programme for parents and children, I was able to witness my own children leaving the nest up close. The friends I have met at Philinter are from all over Japan and around the world, which has been a great benefit. Nowadays, I am using English in family conversations, which is a nice change, and I am thinking about studying abroad with my son again!
