Philinter Academy operates an IELTS-certified test center that has been designated by the British Council. We take pride in having the highest level of IELTS teachers, as we believe that the quality of our teachers is the most important value in the IELTS program.

In 2024, we launched the project ‘8-WEEK PLAN WITH IELTS 8.0 TEACHERS’. This program allows students to experience the exceptional skills of rare, IELTS teachers with an 8.0 band score here at Philinter.

One on One Class

  • IELTS Speaking – An integrated one-on-one speaking class focusing on actual practice and spoken output corrections.
  • IELTS Writing 1 – An integrated one-on-one writing class focusing on actual practice and written output corrections.
  • IELTS Writing 2 – An integrated one-on-one writing class focusing on actual practice and written output corrections.
  • IELTS Reading – An intensive one-on-one reading class targeting the different question types and the specific test-taking weaknesses of students.

Small Group Class (45 Minutes)

  • IELTS Common Mistake – A lecture-based group class tackling different common mistakes of students in taking the four macro-skills.
  • IELTS Vocabulary – An intensive vocabulary class focused on teaching necessary and common words used in the IELTS test.
  • IELTS Grammar – An intensive grammar class focused on teaching necessary and common structures used in the IELTS test.
  • IELTS Weekly Test Review – A lecture-based group class presenting the correct answers and explanations for the IELTS weekly mock test skills.
  • IELTS Pronunciation – A class focused on correcting pronunciation errors and improving clarity for the IELTS Speaking test.
  • IELTS Listening – An intensive one-on-one listening class targeting the different question types and the specific test-taking weaknesses of students.

Evening Study (IELTS MISSION)

Time for a specific topic or mission, consisting of class/self-study/discussion, etc. It is held for 2 hours after school, and attendance is compulsory from Monday to Thursday.
Academic Counseling is also provided.

  • IELTS GUARANTEE only lasts 8 or 12 weeks.
  • For admission, you must prove your current English level. Please submit an IELTS Official score taken within one year.
  • If you do not have an official score, you must pass the ONLINE INTERVIEW. (See below for details of this interview)
  • We deal with all IELTS modules, including Academic, General, and UKVI.

REGULATIONS & BENEFITS
COURSE OFFICIAL IELTS TEST AFTER THE EXAM BENEFITS
8 weeks Guarantee Taken on the 8th week Return to home country Upon the student’s return to their home country and found out that their target score is not achieved, the student can re-enroll (at any course) to a later date, within one year from their graduation. Tuition is free for 4 weeks and only dormitory fee and local fee need to be paid.
12 weeks Guarantee Taken on the 10th– 11th week depending on test date Attend classes of choice until the Official IELTS result is announced If the overall target BAND SCORE is not achieved, succeeding tuition fees are waived and can be extended in increments of 4 weeks, up to a maximum of 8 weeks. However, dormitory fee/local fee must be paid by the student.
  • The school covers the cost of the first IELTS official test, limited to once.
  • The testing location may be Philinter Academy or another testing center. It may vary depending on the circumstances.

ATTENDANCE AND TARDINESS

  • The student must have a 97% overall attendance and punctuality rating in all their classes including the IELTS mission. 5mins late is already considered absent. 3 lates is considered as 1 absence.
  • 100% attendance on the IELTS Mock Test
  • In case of a serious illness and any other valid reasons that cause the student to be absent, the student needs to submit valid proof but the school has the right to determine its validity.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY

  • Students must faithfully perform homework or what the teacher requests.
  •  Mock Test results must not drop 3 times in a row.

TERMINATION OF SCORE GUARANTEE

  • If the score guarantee course is canceled due to the above-mentioned violations (attendance or punctuality falls below 96%, score drops three times in a row in a mock test, or a second violation of school/dorm rules occurs), the benefits will be canceled and the course will be changed to the IELTS Intensive course.

IELTS Guarantee’s curriculum runs in conjunction with IELTS Intensive. However, since it is based on the IELTS Guarantee, class changes are limited for reasons of personal convenience.
Participation in the evening study (IELTS MISSION) is mandatory.

Placement Test (IELTS Test)

Every Monday. Students are tested using IELTS test type, followed by an initial consultation immediately after the exam. In the afternoon, a school orientation is conducted.


IELTS Mock Test

IELTS Mock Tests are held every Friday evening (19:00) and Saturday morning.


IELTS Official Test

  • For the IELTS Guarantee 8-week course, the test is conducted in the 8th week, and for the IELTS Guarantee 12-week course, the test is conducted in the 10th and 11th weeks.
  • The first test fee is waived (paid by the school).
  • The test will be conducted at Philinter Academy or another test center in Cebu.

601 Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
501 + Can reformulate ideas differently in order to ensure that people understand exactly what is meant, eliminating the possibility of misunderstandings. Also, has a good command of a broad vocabulary, including collocations and idiomatic expressions; Can overcome gaps in vocabulary with alternatives. Can consistently maintain a high degree of grammatical accuracy; errors are rare and difficult to spot. Can express myself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly.
501 Can express fluently and spontaneously, except occasionally, when speaking about a conceptually difficult subject. Has a good command of a broad vocabulary. Can sometimes have to search for expressions but can then find alternatives to express what he/she wants to say. Maintains a high degree of grammatical control in speech and writing.
401 + Can express clearly and without much sign of having to restrict what he/she wants to say. Can reformulate ideas in different ways to ensure people understand exactly what is meant. Can maintain good grammatical control. Can sometimes make mistakes but can easily correct them afterwards. Can communicate fluently and spontaneously, even when talking at length about complex subjects.
401 Can communicate with reasonable accuracy and can correct mistakes if they have led to misunderstandings. Has a sufficient range of vocabulary to vary formulation and avoid repetition. 201 + Can generally communicate the main points of what is wanting to say, though sometimes have to simplify it. Knows enough vocabulary for familiar everyday situations and topics but needs to search for the words and sometimes must simplify. Can participate in a longer conversation about familiar topics, but often needs to stop and think or start again in a different way. Can socialize simply but effectively using the simplest common expressions and routines.
201 Can communicate in a simple and direct exchange of limited information; in other situations, can generally have to compromise the message. Can use correctly simple phrases learnt for specific situations, but often make basic mistakes – for example mixing up tenses and forgetting to use the right endings.
