REGULAR CLASSES
- Placement tests and orientation are held on the first day, Monday.
- Regular classes begin on Tuesday morning.
- Please receive your test results and academic schedule at ADMIN OFFICE by 07:50 on Tuesday.
- If the study abroad period is 1 or 2 weeks, regular classes start on Monday morning.
- Please make sure that the number of classes for the course you have applied for is properly scheduled.
- If the level is significantly low, classes are organized as one-on-one classes only instead of group classes. 2 hours of group class is considered 1 hour of one-on-one class.
EXAMPLE OF CLASS ASSIGNMENT
Below is an example of a curriculum assignment in ESL and BUSINESS
- Study abroad 4 weeks or less than 4 weeks: A speaking-centered curriculum is organized.
- If your study abroad period is longer than 6 weeks, you will be assigned subjects such as writing and English grammar. Of course, if the student wishes, there is no problem in assigning the desired subject.
- Listening is mainly conducted in group classes with a variety of contents.
- In the speaking textbook for one-on-one classes, the listening part can be skipped. To secure maximum speaking ability during the limited study period, we skip listening or transfer it to homework whenever possible.
CREATE THE PERFECT SCHEDULE
During the first week of class, you should check with yourself to see if you are adjusting well to the class. Having the ‘perfect schedule’ is the first step to a successful study abroad. New students can change classes at any time until the second week, so create the ‘perfect schedule’ that suits you.
- Does the teacher’s teaching style suit me?
- Appropriate vacant time
- Is the difficulty level of the textbook appropriate?
- Is the level of the group class appropriate?
CHANGE OF TEACHER/CLASS
Applications can be made at the ADMIN OFFICE every Tuesday and Friday. However, if you are a new student within 2 weeks of entering school, you can apply at any time.
ACADEMIC CONSULTATION
You will receive counseling on the first day, 1st week, 3rd week, and 6th week after admission. You will receive direction on what to expect from the class and how to improve your academic weaknesses. Of course, you can also mention your requirements.
BUDDY TEACHER SYSTEM
This system, which has been in operation since 2005, aims to help students achieve academic success and create memories of studying abroad through quick adaptation to student life. A buddy teacher acts as a kind of ‘close homeroom teacher’ to help you. Please share your changes in classes, selection of textbooks, and concerns about studying abroad with your buddy teacher.
GUARANTEED 19-DAY REGULAR CLASSES
PHILINTER carries out a policy of ‘guaranteed 19 regular classes per month’. This policy is for your right to study, requiring at least 19 regular school days from the 1st to the last day of the month. If the number of class days is insufficient, a make-up class will be held.
RESULT-ORIENTED
Our educational management aims to produce results that exceed expectations. Your level/score will improve upon graduation. The goal is to improve your level by 2 levels in 8 weeks for the ESL course, 1.0 to 1.5 levels in 8 weeks for the IELTS course, 250 or higher for TOEIC, and 25 or higher for TOEFL.
Our dormitory is a typical Philippine ESL school dormitory, and all rules such as curfew and drinking must be observed to create a learning environment (be sure to read the PENALTY & CANCELATION REGULATION file).
The dormitory has the advantage of being conveniently located next to the school building.
- There are three types of rooms: single, double, and triple rooms and all rooms are the same size. The triple room has bunk beds.
- Room assignment is determined based on room availability in the university dormitory at the time of registration. Additionally, it does not disadvantage any specific person or room.
- If you would like to change your room, please ask the ADMIN OFFICE manager. Please check when room changes are possible and then make a reservation.
- Please be quiet after 21:00. Please study loudly or talk on the phone outside
the room. Please be careful not to make any noise after 21:00. - Your room is a shared space with your roommate. You will need to be organized and considerate of your roommates. You should never touch other people’s things.
- When you return to campus after going out, the security guard at the main gate may search your bag to see if you are bringing in alcohol.
- Security guards have the authority to warn of disturbances and impose sanctions to ensure public safety and order. We hope for your cooperation.
- CCTV is in operation in the dormitory. If there is an unfortunate incident such as theft, you may be asked to check CCTV. However, if your valuables are lost, our school cannot objectively confirm the fact, so we will not compensate you for
the loss. You can leave valuables or cash at the office. - Cleaning is done twice a week. Please refer to the ‘Cleaning Schedule’ table on the first floor of the dormitory for your room cleaning schedule. If you have any problems with the cleaning schedule, please contact the housekeeper or the
office. - For laundry, please use the laundry room on campus. You must pay 150 pesos or more per session.
→ 1-5kg: 150 pesos
→ 6-10kg: 300 pesos
→ 10-15kg: 450 pesosThere will be no compensation for discoloration or deformation after washing, so please wash your delicate clothing personally. - Bed sheets/bedding are changed every other week. If you need a replacement due to menstruation or other reasons, please ask the housekeeper or the office.
- Electricity bill: Additional electricity bills will be incurred in addition to the basic electricity bill. If usage exceeds 16 kWh per person per week, a surcharge of p25 per 1 kWh applies. The additional amount is shared equally with roommates.
- We recommend setting the air conditioner to 26-27 degrees while sleeping. Since the air conditioner is an inverter type, these temperature settings help lower your electricity bill.
- Guidelines for going out/staying out.
o Going out : If you go out during class time, you must fill out a ‘GATE PASS’ at the ADMIN OFFICE. After class ends at 17:00, there is no need to fill out the GATE PASS. You can enter and exit freely.
o Students in the Spartan program are also allowed to go out for short
periods. Nearby supermarkets, shopping malls, and coffee shops are also
available during the week.
o Staying Out: You must fill out an application form in advance at the office.
Applications must be submitted by 14:00 on Friday. - Room check-out is until 13:00 on Saturday. Please check your passport, airline ticket, and certificate of completion. In particular, you should check the expiration date of the VISA in your passport.
AZON CONDO, located 5 minutes away from the school, is an accommodation for those who want to enjoy studying abroad in Cebu freely without being oppressed by school regulations. Particularly popular among Korean and Chinese families, Japanese and European students.
- The room is a studio type with a bedroom and kitchen, and the veranda (washing machine) and bathroom (hot shower) are separated.
- It consists of single, double, and triple rooms, and the triple room can only be reserved for a family of three. All rooms are the same size.
- Convenience facilities include a sky lounge (live bar) with a great night view, a gym (small), and a swimming pool.
- Regulations are applied only minimally. There is no curfew, and drinking and cooking are allowed in the room. Additionally, no approval is required for family visits.
- You can use the Internet by charging POCKET WIFI. Equipment can be rented for free, but usage fees apply. See below for details.
https://philinter.com/notice/non-academic/free-pocket-wifi-device-azon-students/ - SHUTTLE: A shuttle runs between AZON and SCHOOL for commuting to school and meals. Operates daily, including public holidays. Shuttle operation times and frequencies are flexible depending on the number of AZON users. The shuttle is a service only for AZON users, and if you have any inconvenience in using the shuttle, please contact the office at any time. See below for more information about the shuttle.
https://philinter.com/faq/how-do-i-use-the-azon-shuttle-bus/ - Cleaning is done twice a week. Please come to the ADMIN OFFICE by 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays to apply for cleaning. If you put your room key in the ‘box’ on the office information table, the housekeepers will clean your room in the afternoon.
- For laundry, you can use the washing machine on the veranda. If you would like laundry service, you can use the laundry room on campus. Starting from 150 pesos per session.
- Electricity bill: Additional electricity bills may be incurred in addition to the basic electricity bill, so it is necessary to develop the habit of saving power. If usage exceeds 5,000 pesos for 4 weeks, you should pay the excess amount. The additional amount is shared equally with roommates.
- A waiting room (classroom) has been prepared on campus for AZON users. Here, you can spend some private time or change clothes to use the swimming pool.
- The guidelines for going out/staying out are the same as for dormitory users. When going out, you must fill out a ‘GATE PASS’ at the ADMIN OFFICE. Must be submitted by 14:00 on Friday.
- There are no qualification restrictions for using AZON, but applicants for the score
guarantee course cannot apply for AZON CONDO. - Room check-out is until 13:00 on Saturday. If you have POCKET WIFI, please return the device in advance and receive a deposit. - The church across from the back of the dormitory is noisy due to prayers/events on Saturday and Sunday. For cultural reasons in the Philippines, we cannot file claims with government offices for churches between 9am and 9pm. We ask for your understanding.
- Power outages: There are power outages approximately 5-7 times a year due to external factors such as typhoons. Usually, the electricity comes back on within 3 hours, so you just have to wait a while. Please understand that the water heater cannot be used automatically during a power outage.
- Please prepare emergency medicine in advance. Usually, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and high fever are the symptoms that most students experience.
o If you have abdominal pain or fever, it is better to go to the hospital or pharmacy during the day rather than delay and make your illness worse.
o If you or your roommate has a high fever at night, ask the manager or security to get fever-reducing patches and medicines (paracetamol/Tylenol). It will be important to keep the fever below 39 degrees.
o To prevent diarrhea, when going out, be sure to drink only mineral water contained in a plastic container (sold in supermarkets). If you just follow this, 99% of people will not have diarrhea.
- In case of an emergency at night: You may not be able to connect with the manager late at night. In this case, please ask the security guard to call the manager.
o Emergency medicine, such as fever reducers, can be provided by security guards.
o If you need to go to the hospital, the manager or security guard will provide you with hospital-related information.
o Security guards will support you in case of drunken disturbances, fights, or anything else that happens at night. - If you have a chronic medical condition, please share that information with your manager. The manager will respect your confidentiality and provide quiet support.
- In case of fire: Even if the fire is small, be sure to extinguish it using a fire extinguisher. In case of fire, make a loud noise to warn others or evacuate, and get help from people around you.

- We are checking the water quality of the swimming pool and posting the information on the dormitory bulletin board. We are working hard to keep the water clean, so we ask for your support.
- If you have skin problems due to the water quality of the swimming pool, do not use it and notify the office. This is because it is better to use the swimming pool after identifying the cause.
